WelcomeWe are pleased to announce the NRHA's online Sire & Dam Auction! Don't hesitate to contact us if you run into a problem or have a question about the auction or the Sire & Dam Program.
When you first enter the Sire & Dam Auction, please click the signup link at the top to create your account. This will allow you to bid on stallions. Please include as much information as you can, including your NRHA Member Number if you have one. Your username will identify you in each stallion's bid history, so keep that in mind when choosing a username to represent you. Your username can be as anonymous as you like.
The Top 20 Stallions are listed with thumbnail pictures at the top of the page. All other stallions that have opted to be included in the auction are listed below the Top 20 in alphabetical order. Stallions may continue to be added throughout the auction, so please keep checking back to see the current list. Any stallions that are not sold by the end of the auction will be available for purchase on a first come, first serve basis at 60% of their original breeding fee (their starting bid).
When you bid, you can choose to be emailed if someone outbids you. Please only bid if you are serious about purchasing. Your bid is a legal and binding contract.
If you have used eBay or similar sites, you may be familiar with proxy bidding. We have enabled proxy bidding for the Sire & Dam Auction, which means you can enter a high bid and the system will bid for you if someone tries to outbid you. Your high bid is kept secret. For example: the minimum bid is $600. You bid $800, but the bid shows on the page as only $600. When someone else sees that the bid is at $600, they will bid, say, $625. Because you had entered a proxy bid of $800, the current bid price will increase to $650 on your behalf. It will keep increasing with each bid someone places until they outbid your $800.
The Sire & Dam online auction results will be not finalized until Thursday, January 2, 2014. Due to the New Year Holiday, the NRHA office will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Once the auction results have been verified, winning bidders will be notified by email.
PaymentThe auction ends December 31st, at noon CST. Winners will be contacted after the end of the auction. Payment is due within seven days. We accept payment by check, money order, wire transfer, or credit card (any). All purchases are subject to a 3.5% buyer's fee, which will be waived if paid by check, money order, or wire transfer.
If you have any questions related to the stallions or the Sire & Dam Program or auction, please contact Hayley Lewallen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
